Hey there RSNAV community! I have recently installed the 10.25" in my A5, but ever since the initial install I have been unable to adjust the brightness settings. I was setting up the preferences to my liking (oddly one of my favourite tasks) and attempted, on the touchscreen, to slide the small square to no avail. Both day and night seem to be stuck in the default centered mode. I even attempted to default them and the undo the default setting, just incase it was one of those weird "did you turn it off and turn it back on?" fixit things.

You're help is greatly appreciated!

Are we talking about the squares on the left of the home screen? "Swiping" up/down on those should work.

So part of my issue was that I changed the CAN protocol, because I was messing with settings and that took away a lot of functionality. erik83 happened to mentioned that he had his CAN protocol at Q5, that helped.
Now I am able to adjust the brightness via the swiping up/down on the home screen, but my internal brightness settings are still wonky. I'm speaking specifically of the brightness settings that you find within the real sun settings. There's a bar that is half filled and half empty and it looks as though it is defaulted permanently to the middle as I am unable to adjust it. I wanted to crank the brightness for the daytime because I found the sun kills my visibility.

Let me run to my car and I'll add some photos of the real sun brightness settings.

How do I post photos on here? I'm sure it's an easy process, yet somehow I'm botching it...

EDIT:
Ah... Apparently we are supposed to post to a secondary site and link. I'll tackle this later today/tomorrow.

I've had that issue myself in the past, see this thread  (includes solution)

No worries. Another thing I learned about the brightness settings that is worth sharing;
- daytime brightness is the setting that gets applied when your lights are off
- nighttime brightness is the setting that gets applied when your lights are on.

I learned this from one of the RSnav videos on youtube. I'm guessing the device does not have an ambient light sensor that could detect when it's dark and apply the settings.
The current setup isn't very useful for EU cars where (at least in my case), my lights are always on when the engine is on.

What's your take on changing this to be time based instead of car lights based? My idea would be to set 2 time ranges;
1 for day time; e.g. 7 AM - 7 PM
1 for night time; everything else
Each period can have its own brightness level.

The only downside to this is that in some regions you'll have to adjust it a couple of times per year when seasons change.
